The two-person exhibition features the distinctive woodcuts by Christiane Baumgartner and the photographic oeuvre of Hans-Christian Schink. Baumgartner sources her own photographs and video stills for her woodcuts, utilising both conventional and digital techniques. Her artistic practice reflects on the materiality and immateriality of images and explores the experience of speed and standstill. Baumgartner’s thematic focus has evolved from the early emphasis on highways, helicopters, airplanes, and warfare to observing natural landscapes such as forests, seas, and ultimately, sunlight.
